VIP
2015

VIP, or Viewer Improved Painting, is a piece of work that is the product of the interaction between viewer and image. There is no representation, no idea, or any other input whatsoever. The artist merely supplies the concept, plus the necessary technical functions.
The hardware consists of two monitors, a computer and a webcam. The latter follows the eyes of the viewer and sends a signal to the computer. On the basis of this information, every 10 seconds the color and the structure of the image changes. Step by step two compositions are created that gradually come closer and closer to the wishes of the observer.
